I’ve Got My Philosophy (Scrawl S9 E8)

Hello Scrawl Nation! Last month, DePaul professor of philosophy Frederic Seyler visited the studio.

During this episode, we decided to explore writing in the philosophy genre, and  we specifically discussed how to write a philosophy exegesis!

Our discussion of writing in philosophy brought up the similarities and differences between writing a philosophy exegesis and a typical analysis paper.  The approach is similar to math in ways in that you should always “show your work.” Then we played America’s Favorite Gameshow called What’s That Philosophy? Scrawler Megan gave us philosophical concepts and we had to guess what it meant. It was really fun!

L to R: Scrawlers Brandon Haskey and Megan Deppen, Professor Frederic Seyler, and Scrawler Kevin Kauffman.
