Welcome back Scrawl Nation! For this episode of Scrawl, we delved into Banned Books Week

Brendan P and guest host Matthew P. welcomed Jen Fi., Writing Center Outreach Coordinator, and Andrew Rea, DePaul Librarian, to talk about the origins of the title: Banned Books, who bans them, why they are banned, and events for Banned Books Week, such as a read out of frequently challenged books for Books on the Chopping Block (9/30/16).

Brendan, Matthew, Jen, and Andrew discussed the Rhetoric of Pop, which this week was a Rhetoric of Show Tunes: a moment during the show where a top hit on the Billboard Hot 100 is analyzed. This week featured Chainsmoker’s “Closer”
