SCRAWL S16 E15: POETRY SLAM

By March 13, 2017Scrawl Radio

Welcome back Scrawl Nation! For this episode of Scrawl, we conducted our second Poetry Slam!

Brendan P. and Kate H. invited Hannah L., Kathryn T., and Xuan and Yvette from DePaul P.OE.T.S. to talk all things poetry slam. They talked about the distinctions between spoken word and written poetry, listening experiences, alliteration, poet specific structuring, and the performance aspect. They also talked about the spoken word’s reliance on rhythm and tone.

Later, Hannah acted as host and MC for the poetry slam with Kathryn, Xuan, and Yvette. Brendan, Kate, and Robert D. acted as judges.
