This week, we looked at the UCWbL’s sixth core belief that understanding the different contexts and genres of writing can help writers. Sam Toninato and Mark Jacobs joined the show to discuss one of the most valuable genres, professional writing. In a tutorial, the guests gave helpful tips on how to improve Tommy’s roughly drafted professional resumé. Then, Sam taught us the importance of treating professional writing like any other rhetorical work, while Mark reflected on his recent blog post about how to accurately portray one’s strengths and experience on a resumé.
