Hello again, Scrawl Nation! For the final episode of winter quarter, we welcomed former UCWbLer and Scrawl Radio Host Tracey Hulstein into the studio! Tracey is currently a publishing intern and writer, which sounds inherently cool because it is.
The show this week focused on Scrawl Radio itself as a genre, specifically looking at what makes a good host and how a good radio show keeps the information flowing to the audience. It was veteran Scrawler Kevin Kauffman’s last episode before he student teaches (Good luck, Kevin!), so we also spent a lot of time talking about Kevin’s legacy and accomplishments as a Scrawl host.
Also, we did our weekly rhetoric segment on a song that Kevin wrote and performed about making mistakes. We got some awesome background into the writing process for music! Finally, we had a few parting words for Kevin from all of us (and former hosts Tommy Isaia and Robert Wilson).
Be sure to listen in and learn something about how we approach radio!
