Hello Scrawl Nation! For this week’s episode, Scrawl welcomed a variety of amazing guests that all helped to organize the 2013 Peer Tutor and Mentor Summit at DePaul, including: Brenda Kilianski, Advisor for the School of International Scholars; Liz Coughlin, Writing Center Director and Director of Outreach; Carolyn Rudinsky, UCWbL Graduate Assistant and Outreach team member.
Brenda and Liz gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the planning that went into the Summit, which is a conference where tutors and mentors from all over DePaul get together to talk about their experiences and learn from each other. With this in mind, we played our favorite game, Square Sparrow, where we share useful knowledge we gained while talking to writers at the Summit. For our Rhetoric of #1 segment, we continued looking back to older hit songs by focusing on Beyonce’s “Baby Boy ft. Sean Paul”, which was the #1 song on the Billboard charts in 2003.
If you’ve ever been curious about the variety of tutoring and mentoring organizations, then you should check out this episode!
