Good morning Scrawl Nation!
It was a bittersweet morning as we said goodbye to one of our Scrawl co-hosts and fellow UCWbLers on the air. Megan is leaving the UCWbL next quarter to focus on school and her work at the DePaulia newspaper.
But what better Scrawl send off than an entire episode devoted to one person! In addition to glorifying Megan, we talked about leaving a work position and how to navigate that process professionally.
When Megan decided that she would not return to the UCWbL, she sent an email to the UCWbL director, Lauri, requesting to have a final meeting to talk about her experience. This was an example of proper departure etiquette at any job. Listen to us talk about it!
Our rhetoric segment this week was Megan’s cover letter when she applied to the writing center almost two years ago! We talked about the rhetorical strategies there and reflecting on one’s cover letter when leaving that job. In addition, the clip shows Megan’s final moments on the air and our last sign off of the quarter!
You can listen to the podcast today by clicking here or clicking the streaming player at the bottom of this post. Be sure to check the UCWbL out on Facebook, Twitter, and Digication!

Megan is our nephew’s daughter, and words can’t begin to express how proud we are of what she has become, and accomplished in her young life…!
