It looks like writing communities love the symbolism that comes with Spring–new beginnings, fresh starts, germination, rebirth, etc. Not only is April National Poetry Month, as fellow UCWbLing blogger Jen F. discusses in “Happy National Poetry Month!”, but April is also the kickoff of Script Frenzy.
In its 5th year, Script Frenzy challenges new and experienced writers to draft a 100-page script in 30 days. You can write any type of script–movie, television, radio, dramatic, or graphic novel. It’s not too late to join the over 17,000 people who already signed up to track their progress on the scriptfrenzy.org website.
The Script Frenzy website also makes recommendations about free script-writing software.
Of course, if you do participate, I would also recommend you make an appointment at the Writing Center to get feedback as you write and revise.
Happy Writing!
