Hello Scrawl Nation! Season 10 of Scrawl Radio brings a new host into the fold! Mariah Woelfel will be joining Brandon, Rima, and Megan as Scrawl co-hosts, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on! This week we welcome UCWbL director Lauri Dietz into the studio to talk about the annual UCWbL hiring process!
The UCWbL is hiring right now, so we thought we’d have Lauri on to talk about the hiring process, résumés, cover letters, and interviews both at the UCWbL and in general. We asked Lauri about her own hiring process, and we spent a lot of time addressing what working at the UCWbL means. Basically, any questions you might have about working at the UCWbL, we answer them!
We also played America’s Favorite Game (trademark impending) Job or No Job! We went through some common interview questions, though not necessarily UCWbL interview questions, and talked about the answers one might give to those and what an employer is looking for in those situations. Finally, we initiated new Scrawler Mariah to the team by having Lauri read a portion of her cover letter (spoiler alert: it was beautiful). We talked about the successes of her cover letter and cover letters in general. So really, anyone who ever plans on looking for a job could get some amazing stuff out of this week’s episode!
