Hello, writers! My name is Grace T and I am the new UCWbLing blog editor. I’m a first-year graduate student in the Creative Writing and Publishing program. I moved to Chicago from Texas, and I’m very happy to be here! I write a lot of fiction, but I enjoy helping students in the Writing Center with any kind of writing assignment or genre.
The best way to get to know me is through my favorite books, so here’s a very short list.
Some of My Favorite Books
- In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado
- The Idiot by Elif Batuman
- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Some of My Favorite Books about Writing
- On Writing by Stephen King
- Craft in the Real World: Rethinking Fiction Writing and Workshopping by Matthew Salesses
My Goals for the Blog
As editor, I have several goals that I am thrilled to get started on!
- I’m excited to continue and add to the CMWR grammar series. I think these posts are helpful for students and tutors alike.
- I will work to expand our Social Justice section of the blog because inclusion, collaboration, and anti-racist tutoring are essential for a university Writing Center.
- I am eager to add more blog posts about neurodiversity because we should strive to support all writers.
I’m looking forward to an exciting year!
