Welcome back Scrawl Nation! For this episode of Scrawl, we talked about the UCWbL and hiring.
During the first segment Brendan P., Kate H., and Katheryn T. played audio from current peer tutors on how they prepared for their interview and how they applied.
Brendan, Kate, and Katheryn also welcomed Jake D., Head Writing Center tutor, to discuss hiring. They talked about the materials needed to apply, what type of writing samples are needed, and where to go to improve your resume. They also explained what and who the writing center is looking for when hiring.
In the second segment, they also talked about what is included in the interview portion of the hiring process, such as a teaching demo and making marginal comments on a sample paper draft. They also explained what they did in their teaching demos.
